What is an Immediate Implant?
An immediate implant is a dental implant that is placed directly after the removal of a tooth. Traditional implants require a longer period to integrate into the jaw before they are exposed again.
Especially in the front tooth area, the desire for an aesthetic and functional replacement is particularly strong. Immediate implantation is possible if the bone is free of inflammation and there is sufficient jawbone.
In our practice in Zell am Moos, we have state-of-the-art 3D computer technology that allows us to precisely plan the operation. Once the original tooth is removed, the immediate implant can be inserted. A thread is screwed into the bone, and then the tooth gap can be provided with a provisional restoration.
What are the advantages of an Immediate Implant?
- Aesthetic Appeal: A significant advantage is that the delicate gum structure remains intact, especially in upper jaw front teeth.
- Shortened Treatment Duration: A fixed provisional restoration is provided in the same session.
- Prevention of Jawbone Resorption: Jawbone typically recedes in areas that are not stressed. With an immediate implant, normal chewing can resume quickly, preventing bone resorption.
- Minimally invasive and therefore very patient-friendly.
Immediate Implant or Traditional Implant?
In a comprehensive examination, the condition of your jawbone and gums is assessed. Only then can we make a decision between an immediate implant or a traditional implant. We take enough time for this and provide comprehensive advice.
